Matthew 2:16-3:12

This morning we will be finishing off the 2nd chapter in the Gospel of Matthew, and starting the 3rd chapter.
Last week I said that Herod the Great was ruthless and crazy. We will see that playout in our text as he orders the slaughter of children to wipe out his competition.
We will also meet John the Baptist. By all accounts, this guy looked like quite the strange fellow. However, he was on a mission to point others to Christ and to bring people to a place of repentance for their sins.
John was no shrinking violet, and had no problem putting the religious leaders in their place.
