Joshua 3 4 062123
Today, we are heading back into the Book of Joshua. We will be looking at the 3rd and 4th Chapters.
We are going to be looking at the miraculous crossing of the Jordan river. This miraculous crossing will be reminiscent of Moses parting the Red Sea. This is done intentionally, as the Lord would use this miracle to demonstrate to the Israelites that He would be with Joshua, just as He was with Moses.
The priests are also going to have to demonstrate some amazing faith in this miracle, in that, they will have to take a step of faith and enter into the Jordan at flood stage carrying the Ark before the water would dissipate. Remember, gold does not float, so if the Lord was not in this crossing the priests would be in big trouble.
We will then see the Lord command Joshua to set up some memorial stones in Gilgal as a reminder of the Lord's power and as a reminder to the children in generations to come of how the Lord was with the Israelites.
