Philippians 2:14-18 012124

Jan 21, 2024

This morning we are heading back into the 2nd Chapter in the Book of Philippians,

Paul is going to be encouraging, and instructing the Philippians, and us, to make sure that as Christians that we are providing a strong contrast to the wicked and perverse ways of this sinful world.

Paul is going to remind us that we, as Christians, shine as lights in a world full of darkness and sin. He will remind us that our actions and attitudes are seen by all, and that these actions and attitudes create a strong contrast to the rest of the world. A contrast that provides an opportunity for closer inspection. A contrast that can provide a light that will lead others out of darkness.

One of the questions for us tomorrow morning is; "what kind of light are we providing"? Are we a strong consistent beam of light like a lighthouse? Or are we like those little key chain lights that are weak and intermittent? Are we like flashlights wherever we go that directs the light to lead others out of darkness? Or are we secret agent Christians, who hide our lights under our beds until we think we need it?
